DURING THE LATE EIGHTIES, HAND-IN-HAND WITH HAIRSPRAY AND ROW'S OF GOLD NECKLACES ACROSS YOUR HAIRY CHEST, WAS THE EPITOMY DREAM CAR , MUCH LIKE THE 935 PORSCHE FACTORY RACE CAR, "THE SLANTNOSE PORSCHE"... I HAD PURCHASED, A CAR LIKE THIS ONE BUT, IN "PLATINUM", 'NEW '...32 YEARS AGO.   TO THIS DAY, MY FAMILY STILL TALKS ABOUT THIS GREAT CAR AS THEY ALWAYS REGRETTED SEEING IT TRADED ON A NEW SPEEDSTER WHEN IT WAS REVEALED IN 1989. SADLY, THAT CAR WAS A "M506 ROW" FACTORY SLANTNOSE , ONE OF THE 37 BUILT 'R.O.W.'... FOR THE "REST OF THE WORLD" ('GRAY MARKET' NON-USA). THIS CAR, FOR US, WAS IS THE "DREAMCAR" REPLACEMENT...A FACTORY 911 TURBO OR '930S' M505 VERSION SPECIFICALLY MEANT FOR U.S. SHIPMENT ONLY. IT IS ONE OF 625 SLANTNOSES MADE BETWEEN 1987-1989* (BOTH COUPE & CABRIOLET), AND IS ONE OF THE LAST CHASSIS AS PORSCHE DECIDED TO DISCONTINUE THE 930 AS THE 'G-SERIES" PLATFORM REPLACED IT WITH THE 'NEW' "964" SERIES. STAT'S SHOW THEY ONLY BUILT "278" OF THESE CARS IN 1988* AND THIS WOULD BE THE SECOND YEAR OF THE U.S.A. VERSION.

OUR CAR IS FINISHED IN IT'S ORIGINAL "GRAN PRIX WHITE" PAINT WITH FULL BURGUNDY LEATHER. STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THIS CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN THE 3.3 TURBO CHARGED SIX-CYLINDER 'BOXER" MOTOR, FOUR SPEED TRANSMISSION (THE G-50 5-SPEED CAME IN 1989). THEY WERE EQUIPPED WITH THE 7 X 16" ALLOY 'FUCH' WHEELS, 205/50 VR 16 FRONT TIRES AND 245/45 VR 16 IN THE REAR.
