1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z/28 SPORTS COUPE IN "FROST GREEN"
There's not much we can tell you about the
1969 Camaro you probably don't already know. There's little doubt they
are The Next 'Super Collectible' much like the phennemon experienced over the
last 20 years by the 1957 Chevrolet. Even General Motorsbuilt a
Concept Car that is a 'dead ringer' of the 1969 Camaro body style and then
released it in 2008. It is surely to be an Icon for Centuries to come. However,
when all is said and done, one must ascertain which model would be the
Most Valuable, Most Collectible?? It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to narrow
it down quickly to the COPO,and Z-28 (only 20,302 built) or a
loaded Rally Sport / Super Sport (37,868 made). The Z/28 was Chevrolets
version of a Race Car for the Street and it really wasn't well advertised or
talked about in small towns across America unless you subscribed to
National Magazines or lived in the Big Cities. In fact, living in West Palm
Beach, Florida I never even saw one offered for sale 'new' in '69. The
First Two Years they weren't even listed in the Factory Showroom Brochure ....
by 1969. [ They got a brief mention in the back of the Brochure ( Exposure:

If you drive a Z 28 for the First Time, the lower end performance can seem disappointing (unless you have the 4:10 rear), all the revs are at the high end. However, once it get's up steam- hold on!
If you are lucky enough to have the Crossram Version, the car idles at 1,300 rpm and you're in for a 458 hp Rocket Ride. The 1969 Zee handles like a dream and exhibit's 'The Sportscar Feel' that made them famous on the Race Track that very same year. Most were ordered by Dealer's pretty 'Bare Bones' and it's always a Treasure to see one loaded with a bundle of options! Fact is: I've only seen one Zee Car with Power Windows...ever, and, in the old days, you didn't see a lot of the (original) Deluxe 'Comfort Weave' Interior. Now with all the Camaro Parts Houses, they are common. Despite the fact nearly every Z-28 for sale today features the 'Cowl Induction Hood' few actually came that way from the Factory. In fact only 10,026 were built with the ZL-2 Hood. If the car could talk it would tell you..... the Dealer, or some 'caring' individual 'added' it during it's life. In fact, many don't even have the correct 'plumbing' to make them function ( a sure indication it wasn't born that way! - I find the Z/28 is one of a handful of "pocket rocket's" Factory Made and an Excellent Investment for a 'blast from the past' ride. We look for unusual (in a Sea of Lemans Blue/ Hugger Orange/ Cortez Silver Zee's) and we think we found it in this one. This car in a field of competition, will stand out from the rest as 'unique' and a real trophy winner. I sold this car 9 years ago to a Collector in Tampa and bought it back. It is flat-amazing condition, only driven 1,826 miles since sold.
